Buckeye Council for History Education

We’re nuts about History!

Join us for the Buckeye Council for History Education Annual Conference, July 22, 2011 at the Columbus-Worthington Holiday Inn.

The theme for this year’s BCHE conference reflects the 2012 National History Day theme: Revolution, Reaction, and Reform in History. You can find the detailed schedule here.

Our keynote speaker for this year’s conference luncheon will be is author and illustrator Anne Sibley O'Brien.

Anne Sibley O’Brien is a children’s book writer and illustrator who was raised bilingual and bicultural in South Korea. She has received the National Education Association’s Author-Illustrator Human & Civil Rights Award for the body of her work with Margy Burns Knight (TALKING WALLS and other books); the Africana Award for AFRICA IS NOT A COUNTRY by Knight and Mark Melnicove; and the Aesop Award and the Asian-Pacific American Award for Literature for THE LEGEND OF HONG KIL DONG: THE ROBIN HOOD OF KOREA, a graphic novel which she wrote and illustrated. Her newest books include WHAT WILL YOU BE, SARA MEE? (Charlesbridge 2010) by Kate Aver Avraham and MOON WATCHERS: SHIRIN'S RAMADAN MIRACLE (Tilbury 2010) by Reza Jalali.

Buckeye Council for History Education Membership

Please join the Buckeye Council for History Education (BCHE), the Ohio affiliate of the National Council for History Education!

BCHE supports quality history education and encourages communication between those who teach history in the schools and those who promote history in the community and academia.
